We are so excited to have three wonderful interns this summer! They have been extremely helpful with different events and the day to day operations at the Castle. They have been enjoying spending their summer in Charlevoix the Beautiful too! Read their stories below.
Jaclyn Walling
Jaclyn is a nineteen year old student currently attending Central Michigan University. Majoring in Recreation and Event Management with a minor in Hospitality, she is looking to gain a deeper knowledge of venue coordination through her experience at Castle Farms as an assistant venue coordinator. Originally from East Lansing Michigan, Jaclyn loves to run, travel, pet dogs, and explore the newest health trends. She has traveled to Mexico, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Punta Cana, Italy, Spain, and France. She looks forward to helping couples successfully pull off their dream wedding. Jaclyn loves Northern Michigan and is excited to explore more of it this Summer!
Marissa Boursaw
Marissa is a twenty-one year old senior at Michigan State University studying Hospitality Business. She grew up on the Old Mission Peninsula so Northern Michigan will always be close to her heart. She previously worked in the wine tasting room at Chateau Chantal Winery and B&B as well as interning at Great Wolf Lodge Resort and Spa in Traverse City. She enjoys meeting new friends, running, volleyball, and spending time on the lake. At MSU, she enjoys attending football games, basketball games, and tailgating with her friends. She would love to travel abroad to Greece and Italy after she graduates in May and plans on rescuing a dog as soon as possible. Castle Farms is the perfect internship for her to hone her event planning skills as an assistant venue coordinator.
Abigail Wirth
Abby is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in Hospitality Management and Human Resources with a minor in Leadership. She is from a small farm town outside of Lansing called Westphalia. Her hobbies include running, water skiing, crafting, painting, reading, and traveling. Some interesting facts about Abby are that she did the Disney College Program and worked at Walt Disney World as an intern. She has also studied abroad in Italy and Switzerland studying food, wine, and hospitality. Now she is interning with us at Castle Farms for the summer as an assistant venue coordinator. She loves the history behind Castle Farms and is excited to help coordinate somebody’s big day.
