Castle Pub & Event Bartender
Job Summary:
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a wide variety of beverages to customers, ensuring a positive experience, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines. You must be friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about drink preparation and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, take drink orders, and provide recommendations if needed.
- Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes or customer preferences.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning counters.
- Monitor customers’ alcohol consumption to ensure responsible drinking and to comply with legal regulations.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory, including alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and supplies.
- Check identification to ensure customers are of legal drinking age.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth service and a positive customer experience.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere, engage with customers, and promote customer satisfaction.
- Maintain knowledge of drink recipes, the latest trends in beverages, and safety procedures.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food and beverages.
- Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and efficiently, ensuring resolution to customer satisfaction.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up the bar, cleaning, and securing the premises.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous bartending experience (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of drink recipes, cocktail preparation, and bartending techniques.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle cash, process transactions, and operate POS systems.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and providing accurate change.
- Knowledge of Michigan liquor laws and regulations.Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as necessary.
- 18+
Preferred Qualifications:
- TIPS certification
- Experience working in a high-volume bar or restaurant setting.
- Basic knowledge of craft beers and wine
Pay From
- $16 an hour plus tips
