  1. Introductions and Logistics:
    • Your coordinator will start every rehearsal by introducing themselves to your friends and family.
    • They will chat with you, the bride or groom about any last minute clarifications about how you want your ceremony to run.
    • They will also introduce ourselves to your officiant if they are present and ask them any last minute questions
  2. Attendant Order and Processional:
    • Your coordinator will clarify the order of events for the ceremony, from the processional to the recessional.
    • They will then have the attendants find their spot for the ceremony so they know where they will land after they walk up the aisle. At this time have your family or any other members who joined for your rehearsal sit in their designated seats.
  3. Roles, Responsibilities, and Posture:
    • You and your coordinator will ensure the wedding party understands their duties, such as passing bouquets, exchanging rings, or assisting with the train of the bride’s dress.
    • Your coordinator will also talk about proper posture during a wedding ceremony. How to stand so all of your attendants look the same, where to position bouquets, and how to partner walk in and out of your ceremony are just a few topics we cover.
    • Discuss any readings, prayers, or special rituals and assign roles accordingly.
  4. Vows and Ring Exchange:
    • If you’re writing your own vows, take this opportunity to rehearse them with your partner.
    • Practice the ring exchange to ensure a seamless moment during the ceremony.
    • Consider the logistics of where the rings will be stored prior to the exchange and who will be handing what ring to who.
  5. Ceremony Logistics:
    • After doing a quick review of your ceremony we will walk through the processional, ensuring everyone knows their cue and position.
    • Your coordinator will practice the timing of walking down the aisle, taking into account the length of the aisle and the pace of the music. Your coordinator will handle most of the logistics of getting everyone down the aisle, but If you have a specific music cue or preference be sure to let them know!
    • After everyone is down the aisle you can practice any movements or transitions, such as the giving away of the bride to ensure everyone is comfortable and coordinated.
  6. Audiovisual and Technical Considerations:
    • Your coordinator will run through when your song changes will happen. If you have live musicians or someone else is playing your music they will coordinate with them to ensure they’re familiar with the ceremony flow and timing the day of.
  7. Rehearse Transitions and Timing:
    • We will run through the entire ceremony from start to finish, paying close attention to transitions between different segments.
    • Time each element of the ceremony to ensure it aligns with your desired timeline.
    • Your coordinator will verify with you who needs to stay after the ceremony for photos and determine if an announcement from your officiant after the ceremony is necessary. They will also cover where you and your party will need to go after the ceremony if a formal receiving line is not taking place.
  8. Contingency Planning:
    • Your coordinator will discuss contingency plans for unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather and explain any unique circumstances that come with using the contingency plan.
